Troubleshooting steps if the OEM UI doesn't show from the console app like below.
1. Ask if the OEM UI works on OEM screen before installation.
- If yes, go to step 2.
- If OEM voice commands equipped, use steering wheel control to activate it. If it works, go to step 2. If it doesn't, fix OEM system then install the PX6 unit.
- If no OEM voice commands or steering wheel control equipped, press volume up button on bottom right corner of the screen 20 times and then press RADIO button on the screen several times (refer to picture above) to see if you can hear radio sound, If yes, go to step 2. If no, fix OEM system then install the PX6 unit.
2. Ask if there are OEM parts removed besides OEM screen and AC control panel. If yes, then need to connect those back. OEM screen and AC control panel with surrounding bezel are only parts to be removed for the installation. Ask the customer to start the vehicle and shift to reverse to see if the reverse camera displays. If yes, OEM Disc player is probably not connected. Ask the customer to connect back or check if connection loose.
3. Check if the mini USB connector circled in following picture for LVDS display signal is connected to corresponding OEM connector.
- If yes and the make of the vehicle is Chevrolet or GMC, ask if the vehicle comes with OEM rear entertainment. If yes, need to use the adapter circled in following picture between OEM and PX6 unit mini USB connectors.
b. If still no OEM UI display after checking above, go to step 4.
4. Check if PX6 unit settings are correct.
a. From the home screen look for settings; then go to system information. Press and hold the system information text. A password will be asked by the unit. Enter 7890 Make sure "Use 8836 interface" is turned on like pictured below. Once done, click on 'save and reboot' to apply the changes.
b. If the issue is still the same, check CarType setting and the GM parameter setting like below. Go to Settings, Install set (enter passcode 666888 or 8861) look for CarType and GM parameters. Protocol under CarType should be 'Xinbasi'. For OEM 8 inch IO5 or IO6, Car info under CarType should be '19 8 inch with auto or manual AC' depending on your OEM AC type; GM parameters can try 1,2,3,6,7,8, or 9, and use the one that centers the OEM UI. For OEM 4 inch IO3 or IO4, Car info under CarType should be '19 4 inch with manual AC'; GM parameters can try AUTO, or 4. For OEM 7 inch IOB, Car info under CarType should be '18 7inch IOB with manual AC'; GM parameters can try 5. Click on 'save and reboot' to apply the changes.
