-An OBD adapter (sometimes referred to as a “vehicle interface adapter”) is an electronic device that allows the head unit to access the vehicle network. It is similar in operation to a computer modem or a gateway, in that it translates messages from one protocol to another. 

How to connect:

The OBD adapter can be used with any Android device (e.g. Android phone or vertical head units) with the exception of horizontal head units due to Torque Lite app compatibility.
